Mulligan!

In a friendly round of golf, sometimes a player gets a free shot when they make a really poor play. In the game of life, sometimes there are days where you just don’t feel the mojo. There are many reasons – unusual chaos, feeling unwell or just having a creative block.

The good news is that there is always tomorrow.  Tomorrow is a day with no mistakes in it yet. It is a brand new start where you can take better care of yourself, do something relaxing before starting your day and stay focused to be the best version of you.

For me, it is sleeping in my workout clothes so I can reboot with a morning run. Those 30 minutes are MINE. It is the road, the rising sun, the crisp air and my thoughts. There are no emails, responsibilities, and no one to answer to. Once I get to work, the first thing I do is look at/make a to-do list to set goals for the day. The hardest part is getting started.

Just because you trip doesn’t mean you have to fall over. There will be things that take longer than anticipated or don’t go as planned; you have to be flexible and roll with the punches. While learning from mistakes is important, it is equally important to move on. Keep a record of your accomplishments and celebrate your wins. Nothing feels better than to check something off your list of to-dos.

Even if you jog most of the way, you will want to race to the finish line. In your last hour of the day, think of ONE thing you can do to make things easier the next day. Make a list of goals for the next day, reply to those lingering emails, and make the most of that hour. If you are hitting a wall, push through and remember what is waiting for you at the finish line.
