As technology evolves, even the leaders of social media have
to make adjustments. Facebook is taking cues from other image heavy social
media sites (ex. Pinterest and Instagram) and will release a new
timeline layout. The updated news feed will feature more customization options
and have a visual focus, similar to the mobile version. The icons along the
left side and top right open up the layout, creating an open look and feel and
better workflow.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg plans on introducing gradually.
